Dell Rapids Lions plan 80th anniversary event

On September 17, 1944, the Dell Rapids Lions Club was chartered with 44 original members. Now a committee of current members has begun planning for the club's 80th anniversary celebration. The event will be held the evening of Saturday, October 5th, in the social hall of the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids.

The Honorable Dennis Daugaard, former Governor of South Dakota, will be the featured speaker.

The event, including a catered banquet, will be open to the public, with reserved seats for purchase at a future date.

"We'd love to share this special occasion with as many people as possible," said Club President Robert Wiarda. "For 80 years, we've served our community. That's really something worth celebrating."
